my purse collection.

I've developed quite the collection of purses, which is weird because I'm really lazy about matching a purse with my outfit and thus end up wearing the same purse for extended periods of time. That's probably why all of my purses are in neutral colors and I look for purses that I believe can be dressed up or down.
Actually, all but two of the purses (one from H&M on the top row center and one from Longchamp on the middle row to the right) are vintage or purchased from Salvation Army for less $4.00 or less. The center white purse was bought from Salvo and I think it's really cute and simple, but I found someone's hair in it and it really creeped me out.

The top right and bottom center purses were both given to me from my boyfriend's grand mother. They are both so chic. I've been using the brown checkered one on a daily basis. I haven't used the black one with the gold lizard clasp yet because it feels so special. Apparently his grandmother used to wear this purse out on special occasions. Here is a more detailed picture of the clasp:

It's amazing how a woman's essence can be encapsulated in a purse even after its been given away. When I receive or buy a used purse, I picture the woman who used it before me: what she may have been wearing, what she loved about the purse, what kinds of items she kept inside it. I guess that's also why I find it hard to part with my purses. They almost become like an extension of myself.

  2. You could always add some color by tying a short scarf to any of the purses! They are so great. You are an amazing shopper!
